Course Name French Level II Date 19 January-22 April 2015 Aim The aim of the course is to equip participants with the required knowledge to communicate in everyday situations and to enable them to cope with their daily needs. Rationale The knowledge of foreign languages has always been an asset and especially for anyone involved in international relations. With the fast pace of globalisation, this knowledge has become vital in all areas; to expand business, to further one’s studies, to represent the country abroad, to beneft from travel experiences and to understand other cultures and even for personal development. It is the most important tool for effective communication and understanding between communities. Therefore, it is natural and essential to make this knowledge available to offcers at all levels. Target Group The programme is opened to all Malaysian government offcers. Learning Outcomes By the end of this course, participants should be able: U To understand a simple advertisement; U To describe a place; 72 U To ask and give directions; U To enquire about people’s activities; and U To write simple texts and messages. Course Methodology The participants will learn through classroom activities and interactions with the help of audiovisual materials, practice sessions in the language laboratory and participation in the social and cultural activities of the French speaking community in Malaysia. 2015 Prospectus
