Crises can occur anytime and anywhere around the world causing casualties and property losses. Good crisis management can make a big difference to whether an exodus is efficient or becomes a major catastrophe. To survive against all odds, diplomats and civil servants must be able to forecast and manage crises well and in a timely manner – an increasingly important aspect of diplomacy today. The course aims to enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills in the various techniques and approaches in managing crises both at the national and international level.

This course will be relevant to junior and mid-career diplomats and government officers whose tasks and functions are related to diplomacy and international relations. They must 2018 Prospectus 21 fulfill the following criteria:

✵ Nominated by their respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs

✵ Below 35 years old

✵ Two or more years of working experience in international affairs/relations or international trade.

✵ Have a basic university degree

✵ Proficient in the English language

✵ Medically fit

✵ Able to work independently and in groups
