U To gain exposure on Malaysia’s experience in managing its foreign policy and international affairs; and U To network and exchange views with participants from other countries. Course Methodology The course emphasises on the concept and practice of diplomacy and foreign relations. Participants learn through classroom lectures, discussions, practical exercises in groups and individually, simulation exercises, study visits and briefngs. This course is conducted in English. Course Content U Group Dynamics; U Country Report Presentation; U Cross-Cultural Communication; U Diplomatic Skills; U Public Diplomacy; U Overview of Malaysian Foreign Policy; U Regional Diplomacy; U International Security Issues; U Basic International Negotiations Skills; U International Economic and Trade Issues; U Human Rights; U Communication and Presentation Skills; U Language and Diplomacy; U Literary Appreciation; and U Introduction to State Level Governance. 13 Prerequisite/Eligibility Interested applicants must fulfl the following criteria: U Nominated by their Government; U Have a basic university degree; U Below 35 years of age; U Three years or more of working experience in international affairs/relations or international trade; U Profcient in English language; U Medically ft; and U Ability to work independently and in groups. 2015 Prospectus
