From 20 February to 7 March 2024, six sessions of the Arabic Language Basic Communication Course were conducted, with a total of 33 participants, primarily drawn from various Malaysian government ministries and public institutions. These included the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Human Resources, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, the Ministry of Digital, Policy and Research Division, the Prime Minister's Office, the Islamic Da'wah Foundation Malaysia, the Department of Occupational Safety and Health, the Malaysia Civil Defence Force, the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit, the Parliament of Malaysia, and the Public Services Commission of Malaysia.
The course consisted of 12 hours of language training, covering essential topics such as greetings, self-introduction, and the expression of wishes and preferences. The primary objective was to equip participants with a foundational understanding of the Arabic language and culture, thereby providing them with a solid platform for future language acquisition.
Feedback from participants indicated a high level of engagement and satisfaction with the course content. Participants reported that the training enabled them to read simple sentences for everyday communication and helped them to improve their ability to distinguish and accurately pronounce Arabic vocabulary. In addition, participants were encouraged to utilise online resources to further enhance the basic language skills developed during the course, thereby promoting continued learning and proficiency in Arabic.
