The German Language Level 2 course was conducted from 27 June to 20 September 2024, with sessions held online every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This 42-hour course, spanning three months, was attended by twenty-two participants, including officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, the Prime Minister Department, the National Audit Department, the Parliament of Malaysia, the Ministry of Higher Education, Public Service Department, The Ministry of Works, Ministry of Home Affairs , Embassy of Zimbabwe and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia.
The primary objective of this course was to equip and to prepare the participants with sufficient German Language proficiencies to complete their basic requirements while socializing or working in any German spoken environments. As they are serving at the Ministries, the chance of them to face this situation are quite high. For that reason, this course was aimed to prepare them with German knowledge so that they can contribute to various research and potential development concepts in the future.
Upon completion of the course, participants demonstrated significant proficiency in language comprehension across various subject areas. Feedback gathered from participants indicated that they found the course highly beneficial. It provided them with valuable insights of mastering the basic functions of German Language skills and understood simple and short texts related to daily activities, work and professional situations. They were also able to adapt with German cultural aspects: habits, customs and rules in German-speaking countries.
