The Centre for Languages and Cultural Diplomacy (CLCD) conducted a French Language Level 2 Course from 27 June to 12 September 2024. This course involved nineteen (19) participants from diverse ministries and agencies who are from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health, the Parliament of Malaysia, the Prime Minister's Department of Malaysia, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, the Ministry of Digital, the Ministry of Defence Malaysia, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, the MARA Technological University (UiTM) and from the Istana Kerajaan Negeri Sembilan.
This 42 contact hours program course, every Tuesday and Thursday, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm is an extension to the French Language Level 1 course. It is designed to equip the participants with the ability to differentiate and pronounce French words, to read and understand basic sentences for daily needs and to communicate using simple French phrases corresponding to the elementary level. Beyond online tutorial sessions, participants of this course were also given the opportunity to engage in virtual discussions, role plays, practice sessions, interactive and integrated learning, and simulation.
On 25 September 2024, the Centre for Languages and Cultural Diplomacy (CLCD) virtually held a Foreign Language Level 2 Closing Ceremony at IDFR to celebrate the success of its participants. Overall, the French Language Level 2 Course succeeded in providing sufficient French linguistic competence and cultural understanding. An introduction to the examination : Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF) is also integrated into the course.
