From 4 to 5 March 2024, the Centre for Languages and Cultural Diplomacy (CLCD) conducted the ASEAN 2025: Workshop on Language of Meetings and Negotiations. Forty participants from the Ministry of Health Malaysia attended the workshop which aimed to enhance their negotiation skills by adopting key English terminologies and strategies to facilitate a better understanding of ASEAN from its works, procedures, and decision-making processes.
Over the course of two days, participants delved into a series of comprehensive negotiation modules, gaining invaluable insights into various negotiation techniques, tools, and strategies. They also had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a simulation of ASEAN, negotiating an ASEAN document, and exploring a case study on the Health Crisis while applying practical strategies and techniques in the art of negotiation. Each session was led by a prominent speaker, ranging from serving officers to subject matter experts, ensuring diverse perspectives and expertise were brought to the forefront.
The course was nothing short of transformative, sparking vibrant discussions and imparting invaluable knowledge. With this exposure, participants are poised to forge impactful agreements and enhance the outcomes of their negotiations for ASEAN 2025.
