The Centre for Languages and Cultural Diplomacy (CLCD) organised a Speech Writing workshop from 7-8 August 2024 at Wyndham Grand Hotel, Bangsar. The course welcomed 20 participants from various ministries with the aim to improve speech writing skills among government officials.
Participants delved into important topics covering the structure of effective speech writing including understanding different language styles, inclusion of anecdotes in speeches as well as concluding a speech with engaging questions to produce unique and impactful writing. Each participant benefited from practical sessions and individual guidance from esteemed instructors: Dato' Dr. Fauziah Mohd Taib and Dato' Dr. Shazelina Zainul Abidin.
The workshop not only broadened participants’ understanding but also provided individual feedback from speakers to identify and improve their weaknesses. At the end of the course, participants were awarded with a certificate of attendance and left with boosted confidence in mastering the art of crafting impactful speeches.
