The Centre for Leadership, Negotiation, and Public Diplomacy (LNPD), IDFR had successfully organized the International Protocol and Diplomacy Course for the Minister's Senior Private Secretary (SUSK) on 31 May 2023.
The course was especially designed for the SUSK from all ministries with the objectives to enhance the participants’ knowledge on the international protocol and diplomacy matters, to increase their understanding on the intricacies of international relations and to foster closed networking among the course participants. They were presented with an overview of Malaysia’s foreign policy and the importance of working as one in reaching the common goals They were also been stressed on the importance of having the right protocol when dealing with the foreign embassies and international organisation as well as organising international events.
The course was attended by SUSK from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Human Resource, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Ministry of Local Government Department, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, Prime Minister’s Department, Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Communications and Digital.
The sessions were very interactive whereby the participants posed significant and relevant questions and the speakers shared their knowledge, insights and, works experiences related to the topic. The participants gave the course favourable reviews and since then claimed to have a completely new outlook on the international relations.
At the closing ceremony, Mr. Hamizan Hashim, Director of the Centre for Leadership, Negotiation and Public Diplomacy expressed his best compliment to all participants for their commitment and active participation throughout the course. He reiterated on the importance of international protocol and diplomacy to the participants and aspired them to put it into practice the lessons obtained from this course.
