The final talk show for the series was Let’s Talk:
Health Diplomacy. The session was moderated by
Professor and Executive Director of the Sunway Centre
for Planetary Health in Malaysia, Professor Tan Sri Dr
Jemilah Mahmood. The session featured three panelists.
They were Member of Parliament for Bandar Kuching,
Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen; World Health Organization
(WHO) representative to Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam
and Singapore, Dr Lo Ying-Ru Jacqueline and Chief
Executive Officer of the Malaysia Healthcare Travel
Council (MHTC) Mr Mohd Daud Mohd Arif.

RESEARCH

Committee of Research (CoR) Due to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) dealing

The first CoR meeting was successfully held on
19 April 2021 whereby 18 committee members
comprising senior officers from both MFA and IDFR
convened for the meeting. Director-General Dato’ Mohd
Zamruni Khalid chaired the CoR 1/2021 meeting on
a constructive discussion on the proposed research
topics for 2021. With the general acceptance of the
sensitivity and complexity of researching some topics,
the comments from the committee members usefully
underlined some fruitful and significant areas of

Analytical and Research Papers

By the end of 2021, IDFR successfully produced a
total of 12 papers – analytical and research. Among
the research topics identified in 2021 were Malaysia’s
development diplomacy in ASEAN, 2030 agenda for
sustainable development, Malaysia-UAE economic
